Resource Management and Capacity Planning


eTimeMachine Enterprise™ offers rich resource management features that allow project and functional managers to work in unison for successful project execution and management. It provides a centralized resource pool that is shared between multiple systems including Microsoft® Project, Primavera®, eTimeMachine and Service Desk/Action Request systems (BMC Remedy® and Magic®). It also offers bi-directional integration between its resource pool and 3rd party HR applications in order to provide project and functional managers with the most updated resource information. Managers can search for resources based on skills, roles or organizational breakdown structure.

eTimeMachine’s centralized resource database delivers enterprise-wide views of resource availability, usage and capacity across all corporate activities – project, non-project and IT support. Project and functional managers are provided with resource usage profiles, consolidated employee schedules and detailed utilization reports.

Resource assignments by project managers are made visible to the respective functional/ resource managers for approval. The system can be configured to send automatic notifications to approval managers of new resource requests. Managers are prompted to approve, reassign or reject a resource request which is communicated back to the requesting project managers. Better communication leads to better business results!

Capacity Planning

With complete resource information managers can conduct effective capacity planning analysis and make better resource allocation decisions for successful project portfolio management and execution. Resource Managers have the ability to compare resource utilization and demand across employees within their functional group. Project managers have the ability to determine if there are available resources to execute future projects. eTimeMachine Resource Analyzer, allows to enter role based resource requirements against planned projects and view the availability of resources against those requests. Project Managers are provided with insight into the future so that the right strategic decisions can be made for successful project portfolio management.
